Locals Proposed Flood Handling Activities in Grogol Petamburan

Due to many drainage are clogged or malfunctioning, some points in Grogol Petamburan Sub-District, West Jakarta, prone to be flooded.

To solve that, majority of the citizens in the area have proposed the flood handling activity, as draining the drainage in development program of this year.

Receding Floods in Pejagalan Already Noticeable

The Grogol Petamburan Sub-District that occupied by 200 thousand people is often flooded because lack drainage maintenance and the citizen’s culture that throw the trash recklessly so the drainage clogged and make it malfunctioning.

“We have serious flood problem in some of our area, even the flood could reach up to 1 meter,” told Denny.

Denny continued, besides proposed the draining activity, there also appeared some activities as the improvement and road elevation in the forum.

The location that proposed to conduct road elevation is located on Jalan Tanjung Duren Raya or in front of the West Jakarta Fire and Rescuing Sub-Department office, the other road is Jalan S Parman in front of Citra Land Mall.

Meanwhile, RW 08 Head of Jelambar Baru Urban Village, Ajua Idris (56) revealed, his area is the worst flooded point.

“There are many road damaged in our area and need an improvement immediately,” Ajua stressed.
